§ 5.72.030. Personal safety devices and protective apparel.

  • A.

    Employees shall be furnished personal safety devices or articles of protective apparel, or both, at county expense, when such apparel or devices are necessary to protect the health and safety of the employee at the work site. Requests for such apparel or devices must be approved by the director of personnel. Such personal safety devices and protective apparel shall be used or worn only when necessary in the course of county business and shall remain, at all times, the property of the county.

    B.

    Neither "personal safety devices" nor "articles of protective apparel," as used in this section, includes articles normally worn as everyday clothing.

    C.

    This section does not supersede or modify any other provision of Ordinance 4099 or any other ordinance or department rule which requires employees at their own expense to furnish their own clothing, uniforms, or associated articles.
