§ 2.102.140. General relief—Persons failing to provide support—Complaint and prosecution.

  • The department shall report to the proper legal officer for prosecution of all cases where any person violates any provision of the Penal Code of the state of California relating to the failure of one person to provide for another. In such cases, a formal written complaint shall be signed by the applicant or recipient and filed promptly with the proper legal officer. General relief shall not be furnished for more than 30 days to any applicant or recipient who fails or refuses to sign such formal written complaint when requested to do so by the department.
