§ 6.24.040. Payment for accrued benefits.

  • Payment for benefits accrued as provided elsewhere in this code shall be made:

    A.

    Upon termination from county service; provided, however, that such payment shall, at the county's option, be made in one payment within three months after the employee's termination.

    B.

    At any time prior to termination for employees covered by the provisions of Subdivision 2 of Chapter 5.27; provided, however, that:

    Such payment shall be made at the discretion of the department head, subject to approval of the chief administrative officer, and shall not exceed the maximum payoff limitations that would otherwise apply in the event of termination from county service.

    2.

    In no event shall the payment of these benefits be subject to the election or control of any employee.
