§ 3.70.025. Length of service—Vacancy.

    The periods of service of the five appointed members of the committee shall be staggered, such that one member's position shall become vacant each July 1st, beginning July 1, 1990. The order of expiration of the periods of service shall be based upon the length of service of each member as of the effective date of section 2 of ordinance 89-0078; the position of the member with the earliest date of appointment to the committee shall become vacant first.

    B.

    The provisions of this subsection shall become applicable to an appointive position on the committee at the expiration of the period of service of the member occupying that position on the effective date of the amendment codified in this section.

    1.

    Each member of the committee shall serve at the pleasure of the board. Each position on the committee shall become vacant every four years from the date the amendment codified in this section becomes applicable to each position.

    2.

    No member of the committee may serve more than two consecutive full periods of service as specified in subdivision 1 above. The board, by order, may extend this length of service or waive this limit for individuals or the committee as a whole.

    3.

    A member's position on the committee shall become vacant upon his or her death, resignation, or removal by the board. In the case of such a vacancy, the board shall appoint a successor to serve until the position next becomes vacant under subdivision 1, above.

    4.

    The provisions of Chapter 5.12 of the County Code shall not apply to the committee.
