§ 2.77.095. Department of Public Health Service Fees.

  • The Director or designee is authorized to charge and collect fees for various products and services, laboratory testing, and clinical and non-clinical services as established and in amounts as approved by the Board of Supervisors from time to time. The Director or designee may charge a provisional rate for the cost of newly developed tests performed by the public health laboratory until such time that the Board approves an applicable rate.

    A.

    The Director or designee may waive collection of, or reduce, all or part of the fees in the event that the Director or designee determines that the payment of a fee presents a significant financial hardship for the individual or such waiver or reduction is in the interest of protecting the public health. The Director may contract for billing and collection services.

    B.

    The Director or designee, in instances permitted by law, may charge and collect a co-payment from an individual whose third-party, commercial, or governmental insurance or other reimbursement coverage plan, permits the collection of a co-payment for a medical service.
