§ 4.69.120. Effective and operative dates; suspension of the levy.

  • The ordinance codified in this chapter shall take effect when approved by a two-thirds vote of the qualified voters of the county voting in an election on the issue. The ordinance will become operative on the first day of the first calendar quarter commencing more than 110 days after the ordinance takes effect. The board of supervisors may, upon approval by a 2/3rds vote of all members, and after consulting the oversight committee, suspend the levy of this tax any time following the 2012-2013 fiscal year, however any such suspension shall not take effect sooner than three years after the board's action. The levy once suspended may only be reinstated by a two-thirds vote of the board of supervisors.
