§ 4.40.010. Definitions.

  • As used in this chapter:

    A.

    "Department head" means department head, as defined in Section 2.02.190 of this code, of the department on the premises of which the found property is found or saved, unless such department head delegates to another officer or employee in his department the duties prescribed by this chapter, in which case the words "department head" mean such officer or employee.

    B.

    "Found property" means unclaimed personal property in the possession of any county officer or employee, or personal property found or saved on property subject to the jurisdiction of the county.
