§ 3.30.080. Powers and Duties.

  • A.

    The Commission shall consider and recommend to the Board local historical landmarks defined to be worthy of registration by the State of California Department of Parks and Recreation, either as "California Historical Landmarks" or as "Points of Historical Interest," and may consider and comment for the Board on applications relating to the National Register of Historic Places.

    Criteria for designation, including significance and access, and provision for maintenance, shall be as specified in State law, including the California Public Resources Code, or in regulations and interpretations of the State Historical Resources Commission. Criteria for consideration and comment on applications relating to the National Register of Historic Places shall be as specified in federal law and regulations relating to the National Register of Historic Places.

    B.

    The Commission shall consult with the Director of the Department of Regional Planning of the County of Los Angeles where required by Part 26 of Chapter 22.52 of Title 22 of this code in connection with the Los Angeles County Mills Act Program.

    C.

    The Commission shall have and exercise the powers, and shall perform the duties, set forth in Part 28 of Chapter 22.52 of Title 22 (Historic Preservation Ordinance).
