§ 9609. INTERPRETATION OF THIS CHAPTER

  • Removal and replacement of unreinforced masonry interior or exterior walls with materials and construction conforming to the requirements of this Code for new buildings constitutes compliance with this Chapter. Upon completion of such work, the remainder of the structure is, therefore, subject to the provisions of the Existing Building Code. Nothing in this Section shall be construed to mean that a building within the scope of this Chapter is not subject to Section 102, "Unsafe Buildings," or to Chapter 99.
