§ 6717.1. Wooden Hatchways.

Wooden hatchways of less than 1-3/4-inch (44 mm)-thick solid wood shall be covered on the inside with 16-gauge sheet metal attached with screws at 6-inch (152 mm) maximum centers around perimeter.
